Well I'm just now having a free moment to even blog about my son's birthday. We have been so busy getting ready for a party and now we have revival this week and I'm already exhausted. Well I can't compare to the blog that Dustin wrote about Konnor, it was a tear jerker and so true. But 9 years ago I brought home a chubby baby boy weighing in at 8lbs 11oz. When I was pregnant I kept saying that I wanted a fat baby and I got one. I remember eating almost a whole pizza by myself one day and now today I am paying for that, it still hasn't went away. :)
I had no idea what to expect as far as labor went and to be honest I didn't want to feel any pain. So as soon as they offered the epidural I took it. I never felt the first contraction or any pain. Right after Konnor was born, they took him over to the other side of the room and let me hold him for only just a minute and took him to the nursery. I didn't know that wasn't normal because I had never been through this, so I just thought that was the process and later I was told that when he was born he had turned blue, he wasn't getting enough oxygen so they had to make sure he was ok. He was perfectly fine and I'm so thankful that the Lord watched over him. I had him during our revival, so we had tons of company that week, but I didn't mind.
Konnor was a very good baby, he didn't cry alot, and he was always content. He didn't like being rocked, he wanted you to lay in your lap on his belly and you bounce him to sleep. His cheeks would just hang they were so fat. He had to grow up so fast seems like. He was only 8 months old when I got pregnant with Kensley. He wasn't one of these kids that were attached and had to have me, he was pretty independent, so it helped a lot when Kensley was born because she was one that was attached.
Dustin mentioned the wreck and how Konnor was so strong during all of it. I knew Kensley was in ICU and she was being well taken care of. I worried that Konnor didn't have anyone, he was out in a room by himself several floors away from us. But I think it was Tim and Heather who stayed with him and I don't know what we would have done without them and Holly during this time. Unlike Dustin I didn't get to see him until the next morning. I was so happy to see him and he was being so brave for me and his dad. He was sore and beat up, but he wasn't going to let that affect him. He got lots of attention from everybody and became really spoiled, but that's ok, he deserved it. I'm so thankful to everyone who help take care of him when we couldn't be there for him.
Today Konnor is well Konnor. Anyone who knows him knows that he loves to entertain you and he definitely does it well. He loves playing the drums and loves running fire calls with his dad. He wants to be just like him. Dustin tells him he doesn't, but I think that would be a great compliment. I would love for him to be like his dad. He is started to enjoy playing baseball and football with the boys. He loves singings and watching fire videos on YouTube.
I just want to say Happy Birthday to my little man and I hope you have many more. We Love You!

I remember seeing that chubby cheeked baby for the first time at HSV hospital - we left after church during revival to head over there and when I saw those cheeks I thought for sure someone had stuffed something in there! HE was so adorable :)
I know I wanted to scan that one in here, but I haven't had time to that. Maybe I can eventually. He was so fat, but always said that I wanted a fat baby.
Happy Late Birthday Konnor!!! I can always remember his since it's the same day as Mom's and Jameson's!!! LOL! Can't believe it's been 9 years though! Oh.. and ya'll really stink for going to the Smokies and bragging about it on here.. just saying! ;)
